For 25 years GATE has shared the reality of the poor and marginalized in Latin America with over 3,000 individuals.  Through our cultural immersion programs GATE offers face to face experiences that speak to the soul, that build relationships based on understanding and that can often change one's life.

 

GATE has chosen to build from the success of the cultural immersion program, and invites individuals to explore further meanings of global solidarity through philanthropy.

 

We focus our philanthropic work on the fulfillment of dreams.  The ability to dream is sometimes thought of as luxury, for those who have the time and resources, but we believe dreaming is no more of a luxury than the act of breathing. Our lives are built with dreams. Willa Cather eloquently captured this concept when she stated "The history of every country begins in the heart of a man or a woman."

 

Legacies begin in our hearts.  GATE Charitable Giving wants to know the history and dreams of the organizations we support in Latin America.  Knowing and understanding each of their foundations and the goals which drive their actions enable us to better represent their aspirations. 

 

We also want to know the dreams of our donors and potential donors.  What do you care about?  What are your passions?  What motivates you to work, to play?  What gives you joy? We ask these questions because we are in a ministry to deepen a spirituality of solidarity among our participants and donors. 

 

GATE is committed to investing in meaningful relationships.  We do this by providing a forum for people of different cultures to meet, speak, listen, learn and give.
